What Am I Like?

My abbreviated testimony:

I grew up in the Ottawa area in a Christian home and my family has always been very active in the church. I accepted Christ as a child praying with my Mom. At a youth event in junior high I recommitted my life to Christ, making my faith my own rather than an extension of my family and social network. God grabbed a hold of my heart and has never let go.

My call to ministry:

Shortly after that time I began to feel God prompting me to consider full time Christian ministry as a vocation and career. I was excited to follow that path and after graduating high school in 1993, I enrolled at Canadian Bible College in Regina, Saskatchewan. Throughout Bible College I felt God pushing me and showing me more about myself and how I relate to those around me.

My passions:

I am an extrovert and I thrive on interacting with the people in my church and community.

I lean toward shepherding type leadership and desire to work as part of a team with the board of elders and other staff members.

I love to preach and put an emphasis on preparing my sermons as it is important that I work through what I preach before I bring it to the community of faith.

I believe outreach and social justice are vital parts of church ministry.

I love my wife and my kids and desire to be in a place where they can thrive.
